Qingyuan Miaodao Zhenjun, widely known as Erlang Shen, is a prominent deity in Chinese Taoism and folk belief. Renowned for his supernatural powers and unwavering integrity, he serves as a guardian of justice, a subduer of demons, and a regulator of water systems.

Legend describes him with a truth-seeing third eye, wielding a three-pointed double-edged blade, and accompanied by his loyal hound, Xiaotian Quan. He famously tamed water monsters and controlled floods, embodying the ideal of using wisdom and strength to uphold cosmic and worldly order, making him deeply revered among the people.
