The Medicine Buddha, also known as the "Bhaiṣajya-rāja" (King of Medicine), is the Lord of the Pure Eastern Realm of Lapis Lazuli Light. He made Twelve Great Vows to relieve sentient beings of suffering and fulfill their aspirations. Often depicted holding a medicine jar and displaying the gesture of "Fearlessness," he embodies the healing of body and mind.
